Kirk Ward is a descendant of Private Samuel Washington Ward, Company G, 51st Regiment North Carolina Troops. He has spent the last 18 years collecting information about the Fifty-First and its soldiers. That information, as well as a book about the regiment, will eventually reside on this website. Kirk is retired and currently lives in Texas.
